    Trade: Merchandise exports (2002)--$263.8 billion: motor vehicles and spare parts, lumber, wood pulp and newsprint, crude and fabricated metals, natural gas, crude petroleum, wheat. 86% of 2002 Canadian exports went to the United States. Merchandise imports (2002)--$227 billion: motor vehicles and parts, industrial machinery, crude petroleum, chemicals, agricultural machinery. 72% of 2002 Canadian imports came from the United States.
